For bigger kingfish, 200–300g jigs are ideal. Drop the jig near reefs, drop-offs, or schools of baitfish, lift sharply, and let it flutter back down. Vary lift speed and pauses, as kingfish often strike on the fall. Aggressive bounces near ledges can also trigger bites.

Use a strong jigging rod with braid and a heavy fluorocarbon leader. Hook sets should be firm but controlled to stop these powerful predators from shaking off your jig.
