JcJigs – The lads 30 Kingfish adventure

It was Christmas a few years back now, and over a BBQ and a couple of beverages many yarns were spun and as the night progressed it was discovered a couple of the lads had not caught kingfish before.

We decided that just won’t do and a simple plan was hatched, Jake would take everyone out to catch kingfish on the last trip on his boat before it was sold.

It was a day that will go down in history, a morning to be remembered as beginners and seasoned veterans went to battle and landed over 30 kingies, all on the jig and with a few other beautiful snapper and reef species for dinner.

By lunchtime everyone was utterly spent with laughter, sore jelly arms and tired backs from all of the epic encounters with the mighty Northland “Haku” Kingfish.  It was a day to remember.
